Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix

This year we gave to friends & family, bags of homemade marshmallow men and homemade hot chocolate mix for Christmas treats.

I was truly unaware as to how much of a difference in flavour and texture a homemade mix could be! The sweetness isn’t overwhelming and when you add something as basic as boiling hot water to a mug, it actually comes out richly flavoured and, dare I say it: luxurious o_O;;

The recipe is from Alton Brown and incredibly easy — three ingredients (four if you really want to include the minute amount of salt), whisk it all together until combined and decant into your storage container of choice!

Hot Chocolate Mix

2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa, unsweetened
2 1/2 cups powdered milk
1 teaspoon salt

Combine ingredients in a large bowl.
Whisk until no lumps of anything remain.
Decant into container of choice — makes 5.5 cups

To serve: you know how to make hot chocolate! Top with homemade marshmallow man, if desired.
